ONLY ONE WEEK TO SOCIAL PRESCRIBING DAY, THURSDAY, MARCH 14!
There are many ways to participate!
We are just one week from the first celebration of Social Prescribing Day in the United States! Groups around the country are coming together to celebrate a movement that is rapidly growing throughout the U.S. Whether it is addressing the loneliness epidemic, connecting patients with the arts, encouraging volunteerism, or increasing involvement in nature and outdoor activities, social prescribing is putting patient’s needs and interests at the center of health care and using our communities as medicine. All of these activities and more will be on display on Social Prescribing Day in the U.S. (and around the globe) on March 14th. Click on socialprescribingdayusa.com to discover what people are doing around the county.

Social Prescribing USA Live Webinar (1pm-2pm PT)
Announcing “Live Longer, Healthier and Happier” – a virtual event
We know there’s a public health crisis of loneliness and lack of connection. At the same time, we are having a mental health crisis, leading with anxiety and depression. And yet, US healthcare practitioners have been hamstrung to act--until now. The UK and 26 other countries have been practicing “social prescribing,” with healthcare providers addressing patients’ isolation, mental health, and chronic disease by prescribing the arts, nature, volunteering, and community groups, among other non-traditional remedies. Join us for “Live Longer, Healthier and Happier,” a virtual event on Thursday, March 14 with a panel of Social Prescribing innovators, as they discuss the landscape for social prescribing, the latest in arts and health research, and the benefits of nature to well-being.
Featuring:
Dr. Jill Sonke, Director of Research Initiatives & Co-director of the EpiArts Lab, UF Center for Arts in Medicine
Julia Hotz, Author, The Connection Cure (1st U.S. book on Social Prescribing), to be released June 12, 2024.
Dr. Don Rakow, Director, Campus Nature Rx Network (60 campuses)
Moderated by Dr. Alan Siegel, Co-founder, Social Prescribing USA
